To focus our minds in this lecture and the next, we shall identify major themes that act as bridges between the ancient text and the modern world. Firstly we shall examine the pain of infidelity and the wholesale failure of leadership.
MARRIAGE MADE IN HEAVEN: The marriage of Hosea and Gomer as an analogy of the covenant union of God and Israel is best understood when set in the context of the whole redemptive story of the Bible. In this opening lecture we trace the theme of marriage from its institution in Genesis, to Sinai, the Prophets, the writings of the Apostle Paul before coming to a climax in Revelation.
